Caroline's began school this week at Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg, Georgia. This past Friday was her orientation and on Monday she walked like a big girl into her school. On Friday, we went to her room first to hear from her teacher, Mrs. Smith, and the teacher's aide, Mrs. Williams. After we heard about her particular room, Brian and I, (and Andrew, Aubrey was in the provided childcare room) headed into the auditorium to hear from the Headmaster and Principal, while Caroline remained in her room to complete a couple of activities. Caroline was quite overwhelmed as we headed into her room and as Brian and I headed to the orientation, tears came to her eyes. I was quite surprised to see my sweet, extraverted girl, with tears! It was all I could do to leave her there, but I knew that once we left she would perk up and join in, and I was right. When we got situated in the auditorium, I sent Brian back to check on her :-) to which he said she was happy and playing. Wether of not, he was just making me feel better or she actually was happy and playing, I'll never know, but I do know that when we went back to get her, she was happy and excited to return on Monday.
First of all, Caroline is an early riser. I'm not exactly sure what time she wakes, but she is not allowed in our room until her clock says 7:00, so most every morning, as 7:00 strikes, she is jumping into our bed to start her day. But OF COURSE, on this morning, she decided she would sleep late! Brian had to go in and wake her up to get her going. She went through her morning routine of going potty, brushing her teeth, putting her clothes on, and making her bed. After she was all ready, Brian made her and Aubrey breakfast. I, of course, took lots of pictures, some of which are below, and we headed off to school after saying goodbye to daddy. When we got to her school, after a quick prayer, she eagerly jumped out of the car, and the aide helping her out had to remind her to tell me bye :-)
When I picked her up at noon, she had plenty to say. I tried to let her lead the conversation, and once she got going, she didn't stop. Of course, she was most excited about getting to eat snack out of her Aerial lunchbag and playing on the playground. She was nothing but thrilled to go back the next day. I'm so excited about where she is and can't wait to see her grow this year!!
