Waaaaay Behind!

So, my November resolution...yes, I just created that, is going to be keeping up with the whole blogging thing. I do reallyenjoy it and even more so when I look back over previous posts. Since I last posted, obviously, with two kids, a lot has happened!

We were very fortunate to have a friend of ours who takes amazing photos and is also amazing at editing them. She met us one Saturday morning and took pictures of us as a family. We did try to get some of the girls together, but Aubrey was not feeling the sister bond and love that morning apparently :-) I've posted some of the pictures, but be aware, you will see them towards Christmas :-) Thanks Mary Faith!!!!!!!!

Towards the end of October, Brian ran a half marathon on October 3oth with some people from our community group from church. The girls and I were so excited about going up to watch him cross the finish line. In fact, our whole community group was going up to one of the members daughters house to eat lunch after the race was over. And not just lunch....Jim N Nicks, my most favoritest Bar-B-Q place EVER!! So needless to say, I was pumped about watching Brian and SUPER pumped about eating!! So that morning, the girls and I got up and did our normal routine. The girls watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the bed while I took a shower and got ready. I got the girls ready and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. When I put Aubrey down, she immediately lifted her left leg and fell over to the ground and started crying. I knew immediately that something was wrong with her foot/leg. The previous night she was crawling backward down our (carpeted) stairs with Brian following behind and when she got to the last step, she somewhat slid off and landed on the ground. She started crying, but Brian and I both didn't think a whole lot about it because she was so tired and it was bedtime. I took her upstairs changed her clothes and put her to bed no problem. Apparently, something was wrong. So we loaded up fast and went to our pediatricians office to get her checked out. Aubrey was not a happy camper when they touched that one part on her leg. So, off to the ER we went. I have to say, I was quite surprised at what a pleasant experience it was. (As much as it could be) Everyone was very helpful and friendly and tried to expedite the process as much as possible. So after a couple of hours, it was determined that Aubrey had a fractured/broken leg above her growth plate. They put her in a cast and told us we needed to visit an orthopedist within 5 days. Brian was quite surprised when we weren't at the finish line, but the group informed him of what had happened and he met us later on.

The following day was Halloween which is always fun. Caroline dressed up as Belle and Aubrey was going to be a bunny, but stayed home with me instead to help pass out candy. I was actually quite impressed at Aubrey's help. Every time someone rang the doorbell, she would put the candy in their bags and tell them "bye bye." We had a nice time passing it out while Brian and Caroline went out trick or treating.

The following Tuesday, we took Aubrey to see the orthopedist where she got her pink (picked by big sister) full leg cast. After the visit to the orthopedist, the girls and I took off to the beach for a few days to visit with my sister, her daughter, and my parents. It was a very relaxing time, even though Aubrey was learning how to crawl :-) It was quite difficult figuring out how to bathe an 18 month old whose entire leg can't get wet! But, all things considered, the girls rode down there a back wonderfully and it was a very successful trip!!

I also had my 16 week doctors appointment for Baby #3. No ultrasound, but she said everything looks great! We go back December 3rd to find out the sex of the baby!!! We haven't completely decided on names yet; however, our oldest, Caroline has decided that it will be a girl and that her name will be "Pony McBlackberry" Yes, you read that correctly, although we did have a short name change for a brief moment, when she told my mom one night at the beach that she changed it to "Lightning" and also told her that, "that's English" I guess just in case we were thinking it might be Spanish or German or something. Who knows!!

The most recent experience that Caroline has gotten into would be that last night, while Brian was outside grilling, Caroline came running inside asking for eggs. She went upstairs and got her eggs from her kitchen. When I asked her what she was doing, she informed me that she was building a "chicken's nest" and needed eggs for it...hmmm I guess she is more like Brian than I had thought :-) After that, we did have a lovely rendition of "Meow, meow, Kitty come home" from Caroline and her ukulele that Grana and Papa brought back from Hawaii. Written and performed by Caroline herself. It was an interesting night at our house!!

Also, I've added one more video of Aubrey. This could be one of my favorite videos of her. Just a little extra!
